Dr. Elias F. Jarade, MD, FICS

And director of the Corneal, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery Services.

Dr. Elias F. Jarade is a graduate of Harvard Medical School with 2 certificates of fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery from the Eye Center and Eye Foundation for Research, and The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School , Boston , USA .

Dr. Elias is involved in the practice and research of refractive surgery and cornea transplant for the past five years and has to his record more than 50 scientific papers, chapters and reviews, with more than 20 presentation in the field of cornea and refractive surgery at international meeting (e.g. American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology- AAO, European Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology - ARVO) .

Dr. Elias was the first to report the method of LASIK surgery in eyes with herpetic keratitis, and he pioneered the new methods of accurate corneal power measurement after LASIK surgery and the new method of in vivo quantification of corneal lesion sizes. Also, he co-authored the development of news refractive surgery technique (IC-LASIK) for the correction of high myopia beside his current work in the development of new LASIK ablation profile for super vision (wavefront technology). Dr. Elias was awarded a c ertificate of Outstanding Achievement Awards , from the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England, in recognition of his achievement in the field of cornea and refractive surgery.
